Probably the worst lunch we've ever had. We ordered fish and chips. Safe, right? When it finally arrived it was one degree shy of being burnt, and almost cold. Obviously the cook failed to take it out of the hot fat on time, then forgot to tell the waitress that it was ready. Innatentive waitress too. Next time we'll go elsewhere.

I didn't get to experience the food here, only the night life. It was... OK. The bartenders were really nice and the drinks had a nice kick which was the best part about it.

Best fish tacos ever!! Always great service and they deliver to my office downtown!

The ONLY reason why I'm giving this place two stars (and not 1) is because my husband liked his burger and the waitresses were good about refilling his drink. Otherwise i'd give it a 1. 1. We waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive. The waitresses said how sorry they were b/c they place was busy. Here's the thing. The restaurant was full but there was no wait. In other words, a kitchen should be able to handle full capacity. A table next to us left b/c they had waited 1.5 hours for chowder and stew... Things that should be ready. 2. I ordered a Cobb Salad. The chicken was tough and some of the ingredients that were listed on the menu (such as eggs) were missing out of the salad. I waited 45 minutes for a salad that was not made to the description of the menu. 3. The garlic fries literally looked wilted. So fair warning....

I've been here twice so far and find it interesting that they have awards for "Best of South Kitsap" on their wall. And yet, I still feel--meh. We had the calamari which was good, BUT it wasn't calamari. I think what they are serving as calamari is actually skate wing. It is a lightly breaded fillet cut into a calamari steak . It is fried to perfection, very mild tasting, and very unlike any other calamari I've had. Don't get me wrong--it is very good and I've enjoyed it both times I've had it, but like I said, I'm skeptical about it actually being calamari. Each time we've asked about it, they are absolutely certain that it is calamari, but really, why do you think they serve squab at fancy restaurants instead of pigeon? I could be wrong here. If I am someone please let me know. The chicken pot pie we had was like chicken chowder with a pie crust. Comforting and homey, but nothing spectacular.

Tried the Moondog Burger . . . Nom and Nom Seemed like an expansive menu for what the tummy may desire. Friendly local feeling bar with awesome food - ( and ) - it is family friendly not that I personally am concerned with drinking a cold adult beverage with a meal. Thursday nights offered a $ 10 meal, let the cook try something new for the week type offer . . . was tempted but will explore this on the new few visits. I will become a regular customer here for sure.

Our borrowed Internet signal was dwindling along the water in Port Orchard and the eating options in town all seemed to be pretty similar in average rating, so Moon Dog just sort of was decided on last minute (maybe it was the name?) This Sunday evening, we found ourselves in a pretty standard Northwest small town brewhouse, serving small town greasy food with small town looking waitstaff. Oh yeah. And Jazz music. LIVE jazz music. Which, to our dismay, had brought all the quiet and socially-awkward jazz-buffs in the greater Port Orchard area to the bar. The atmosphere teetered between eerily quiet to maybe-just-a-tad-too-loud as saxophone jazz tunes from a local player filled the cozy little bar. My assumption is that live jazz may only be featured a couple of nights in a month. The clientele that filed in as the night progressed assured me that beer guzzlin' rockers and anthems were sure to be blaring out of the jukebox as soon as Mr. Jazzman packed up. The atmosphere was pretty decent for a small town bar. No too dark and not too bright. Just mellow. Plenty of seating styles: Bar top , high top bar tables and then restaurant tables ( this place is family friendly until 8pm) Beer selection was decent. Not the biggest selection, but a nice mix of porters, stouts , lagers and IPAs-just enough to give you variety without worrying about ancient kegs withering away from getting lost amongst too many choices. Food was the biggest problem at Moon Dog Too. I just wasn't impressed with the selections we ordered. A bacon cheese burger that was just overcooked and dry (c'mon, it's pretty tough to screw up a cheeseburger) and some Fish Tacos that would have been a lot better had they used something other than fried fish chunks. Kudos for the lemon sauce, though. The big downer was the fries. I see they have already been mentioned here a couple of times. They are absolute soggy-drenched grease bombs! But y'know, some people like them this style! I know Dick's has made quite a name in the Seattle area for that style of hand-cut fry, dripping soggy with grease, but I'm just not feeling it. I'll give them a nod for the hand-cut thing, but I would rather not have to wring my fries out before I eat them. Changing your fry grease more than once every five years would help things along as well. Those of you that think you're in for something delicious when you order those sweet potato fries might be a bit disheartened when they come out almost looking black from the old grease! Anyways, Moon Dog Too is just pub grub. Plain and simple pub grub. The menu really sells the food as something that is bringing the locals in from miles around, but quite frankly, it just seems to be greasy-spoon, pub-grub eats. HEAVY on the grease. Prices are extremely reasonable, so if you're on a budget and your cholesterol levels are good, the Moon Dog Too will only set you back a few years in vascular integrity. Might as well check it out.

This is a bar that serves the BEST burgers that my 30+ year old mouth has tasted. The wait staff takes great care of you. Tracy the bartender is artist behind the bar. He has concocted his own drinks that my wife named, one being the Get Naked. The fries are made from fresh potatoes and sweet potatoes and the jalapeno poppers and pepper-jack sticks are hand rolled. The Moondog Burger (1/3 lb patty, three kinds of cheese, ham, bacon and a fries egg) is perfect after a long run to replenish those calories. The pizza is the best when made my Dave. The biscuits and gravy for breakfast are to die for. Family friendly till 8 pm. Weekly cribbage tournaments. Buzztime trivia. Good times!

I brought my two littles here the other night for dinner. I think my waiter was new...not sure. Either way, the food was pretty good! My kids had their Mac n cheese with fruit on the side. I was impressed with their fruit!! My chef salad was great, too. We will be going back for sure...hoping next time the wait staff is a little better.

I've been here 4 or 5 times now so its about time I write something about them. Moon Dogs is kind of my go to place in Port Orchard. Not a lot special here but they have good burgers, sweet potato fries and cold beer. It can be a bit on the cool side if people are sitting outside in the smoking area as this door gets left open a lot. Summer is better. The wait staff is great with keeping things going. You can even bring the kids if you don't mind they watching people drink beer.

Four stars instead of three because the burger was that good. Server was very nice but took almost an hour to get our food (place was about half full). Sweet potato fries were super greasy and mushy, wouldn't recommend them. My husband ordered the tater tots but they were cold and tasteless. They had live music which was cool for a Saturday afternoon. I would only return for one reason....the burger was amazing!

  • Becky H.

We had burgers here on burger night and loved the food and the drinks were good too. We went on a night that was slower and had excellent service. I read some reviews about the service being an issue but we didn't have that experience. This was our first time in. We saw that they have three huge fire pits out back thy they keep going and we liked that. We are anxious to visit again perhaps when they have a band playing. The food and drinks are so much more affordable than the new beach bar across the street. I hate to say that but they really are. This is a great find.

  • Thornton A.

The homemade jalapeño poppers looked promising but really they fell flat, the bun on the burger was stale and fell apart and the fries were greasy, the wait staff were friendly and the beer selection looked good, I wouldn't recommend this place for lunch on a Thursday

  • Margaux S.

Don't let the appearance fool you, they have very good food and fun burger specials which never fail to impress. The crazy burger (jalopeno poppers) was great and offered a tuelly americana experience for my brother visiting from England. Their drink are also very resonably priced, even more so when u taste how "stiff" they are. Great place, will recommend and return!

  • Chuck M.

Mushroom swiss burger was flavorless. At first bite it started oozing apart every which way and was starting to soak through the bun. I like the fact that you can order tator tots as apposed to fries. Had to order my queso for the tators twice and by the time i got it i was already done with my burger. Beer was lukewarm, couldnt even finish it. Overall its your basic bar food that you can get anywhere and i will not be going back. Anyone that says their food is the best must have very low standards or not venture out past the bar scene.

Just moved to the area and decided to try this place. Beer was good food was sub par. We ordered 2 beers and a basket of fries. Beers came quick fries took 25 minutes,10 of those minutes we watched our food sit under a heater lamp. Fries were limp and and cold. Service was not very good here.

I have been coming here a few times a year to enjoy a good burger awesome fries and a cold drink. I love the different burger of the month. The breakfast is awesome and the service is GREAT.

Doesn't even deserve 1 star. The bartenders take forever to get drinks out and the security will kick you out for tripping all over that treacherous bar. The security guard that looks like a tub of lard is especially rude and the rest of the staff are all either pretentious or really dumb. Worst experience ever. Tried twice now and will never go back.

  • Adria M.

I am only knocking them down one because the bar stools are NOT comfortable, and I prefer sitting at the bar. I guess that's a combination of my expectations and the reality, but I will bring a cushion, or maybe my own stool with a seat back. With that said, the bartender was attentive. I had the best hot wings I have tasted in Puget Sound, and I am obsessed with buffalo wings. The Prime Rib was ok, and hits the spot if you are craving meat on a Friday night. The prices are right on, and the atmosphere is REALLY laid back- which I love.

The food was delicious and sooo flavorful! We had the BLTC sandwich with sweet potato fries and we had their Nachos as well! They were very accommodating to our specific requests. Our server was Jesse, he was very attentive and brought us everything we asked for so quickly! We will definitely come back here soon!

This is not the place I would've come specifically for clam chowder. I've been in a relationship with their garlic fries for some time now, but today was a rough day... The kinda day you stop where you are and say..... Screw it.. I need a bloody Mary! As it's pouring rain and chilly, chowder sounded like the obvious pairing. Now, I've eaten enough clam chowder to fill many a mid western grain silo... So my hopes weren't high, I expected good, I haven't had anything bad here at MD2s, but what I got blew my ever lovin mind. A style I have rarely experienced... Super chunk! There were clams the size of... Well CLAMS! Potatoes, onion... A little bacon... Essential but not over powering..... Not since a little joint in Santa Cruz have I had such a delightful chowder surprise! Do yourself a favor... Chowder it up!

Had a fantastic breakfast this morning and the portions were HUGE! We split a spanish omlet and ordered a side if oatmeal. We had enough eith just the omlet and the oversized potatoes. The quality and customer service was great and the price was so reasonable. I'll be coming back again.

  • Lauri T.

The burger and fries are delicious! My only complaint is the tap beer is not cold enough.

    (4)
  • Joe F.

First things first.. MoonDogs is located in Washington State but does not contain a selection of microbrews on tap. This is a fail. And a big enough one to lessen the glamour provided by there fantastic menu and service. You have got to try all the appetizers. Each one is great in its own. The cheese sticks take the taco.. But it is hard to enjoy all the way due to the lack of a great beer to chase it down.

I am a minor at 19 and I went down to this place today to watch the Seahawks game. even though I was a minor they still had seats for me and I was very pleased. they had a very big TV and I was able to sit right in front of it. The service is really good and the waitress kept up with my drinks. The food was really good but to be fair I only had the fries which by the way was a pound of fries for only about four dollars and it filled me up pretty well. While the Seahawks game is going on they had a little bit of a raffle where people can win Seahawks prizes. The guy next me want a Seahawks Christmas ornament. The Seahawks won that day 17 to 7 btw. No complaints had a very fun time.

If you're looking for a cheap meal, this is the place. Perhaps we went on a bad night but the food was horrible and the service wasn't much better. I had soup and salad. Hard to screw that up , right? Wrong. The soup was some concoction of broccoli and corned beef that tasted as if an entire container of salt had been dumped into the cup. My husband had a veggie burger with sweet potato fries. The veggie burger was a respectable portion and according to my husband was quite tasty. The sweet potato fries were soggy and flavorless. This was the one part of our meal that was not over salted. If fact the fries weren't salted at all. Now for the service. Perhaps we arrived between shifts. Our waitress was also bar staff. She was spread quite thin although I wouldn't say that the restaurant was busy.. She did manage to check back with us to see if our food was acceptable but many opportunities were missed to serve us an additional drink or two. In the end, I was glad when our check arrived and this unpleasant experience was over. The most pleasant part of the meal was when the check arrived and for three drinks, soup and salad, and a veggie urger with fries and the check was only $28. While inexpensive, frankly, for the food presented and the service that accompanied it, I thought it overpriced. If you want a good meal and are willing to spend more for a quality meal, go across the street to Amy's on the Bay.

I love this place. But in the last year this place has gotten so busy on weekends but is so understaffed. They need more cocktailers active on the floor, maybe it would reduce the wait for a drink. Service is good once it's your turn, but it takes forever to get a drink. :(

    (3)
  • Ty Y.

Worst bar around. Takes forever to get a drink and you can barely walk around due to it being so crammed. Music is always too loud to have a conversation too. Never a good experience.

    (1)
  • Josh S.

My burger was good, but not that spicy like it said, got a warm beer on tap which was unpleasant, then followed by a normal soda then a flat one, asked for crispy fries and got the soggiest ones possible. My wife enjoyed the Reuben though. The waitresses also seem like they could pick up the pace a bit more...I won't be coming back though so no worries for a future bad review.

Absolutely fantastic. Our server Amanda was great at helping with menu descriptiobs. Friday night 7pm the place was jumping. Lot of younger folks on the patio around the firepit. We both had the BBCC Burger. Huge! Actually could taste the sharp Cheddar cheese. I also had the Clam Chowder. Almost tasted like beer cheese soup meets clam chowder. Wonderful mix of potato and clams. Price for entire dinner under $30. Not bad! We'll be back. Highly recommended.

I love this place! I moved to Wa last year and so far this is the only bar I have come across that not only has a good night life crowd but also had great food!! This is a most go place! Food is great workers are great and the people who go there are great!!!

  • Diilon I.

This place used to be my absolute fav!! Food, service, environment, nightlife, and bartenders.... But lately all those qualities have been varying from day to day and from crew to crew. As far as food goes, eat when Dave is cooking, or Tyler. And as far as going on weekends to enjoy spirits.. Make sure you're a navy dude that says "bro" ALOT. You'll get served right away all the while, the die hard regulars are waiting to get noticed. I'm guessing because they assume you'll always be there anyway. But that thinking never works forever. I give them 5 stars because I support them all the way, but only wish things hadn't gone down hill.

Best food! I've had their bltc, steak, prime rib, chicken and sides. Everything is always amazing!

After being told the food was amazing, we had to try it out. It was obviously a local hangout and the only table available was a high top in the bar. It was unclear as to whether we were to seat ourselves or wait, so after a few minutes we took the high top in the bar. The stools were terribly uncomfortable as they were just round swivel stools. We sat for almost 10 minutes before our waitress happened by and was almost past us when she realized we didn't have drinks or anything and stopped. We did have enough time to already decide what we wanted to eat and was able to order our food with our sodas. We had a bacon bacon cheese cheese burger with regular fries and chicken fingers with sweet potato fries. The burger was very good, but the fries were soggy and an ugly brown color due to dirty grease in the kitchen. My chicken tenders were the frozen bagged variety and after being told the food was amazing, I really expected fresh, hand battered. I did have them tossed in buffalo sauce and the flavor was good on the sauce. While it is a particular pet peeve of mine, I cannot stand food being served sitting on my fries and if they hadn't been tossed in sauce maybe not such a big deal, but there they sat. My sweet potato fries were flavorful, but also soggy and a dirty brown color due to the grease. I didn't get the blue cheese dressing as ordered, but the sauces that came with the dinner would have been good if I had ordered them plain. All in all, I was less that impressed with my dinner. The service was not horrible, but we definitely felt sub-par because we weren't drinking on a night that was obviously a Friday night local social spot. Needless to say, our waitress was eager to have the table for a high spending party and while we were not offended, it was a little pushy. We got one drink refill from an attentive bar tender, but had to ask for the others. The glasses were rather small as to not expect to be refilling often. I think this is one spot we will leave for the locals.

A dive bar to rival all dive bars, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I wouldn't expect anything too far above average at MoonDogs Too, but it is worth visiting for the atmosphere. If you enjoy live music, drunken dancing, pull-tabs, decent nachos, and friendly staff, kick back and enjoy the people watching.

Very good food whatever you get! Great clam chowder and burgers especially. Upbeat atmosphere!

  • Lydia P.

I REALLY want to give this place a 4 for food. They actually do have some pretty tasty food. We tried breakfast out and it was cheap and tasty. The reason for the 2 stars is simply this place is a complete rip off at night. I've been on more than one occassion at night where I have been overcharged or charged for someone else's drinks. If I find myself there, I deal strictly with cash and I make sure that I ask how much they are charging me for my drinks.

Tried this place out on the recommendation of a friend. I had the BBCC (Bacon Burger & 2 Cheeses). It was a little bland. Nothing spectacular about it...it was just a burger. The wife had the Blue Cheese burger and said that it had a funny after taste. The waitresses are very friendly. Nothing really good or bad about this place.

Wondering how much weed the folks giving the food high ratings smoked before going here. The bar itself is kind of cook and they have a ton of beer on tap. The food I'd mediocre at best. The burgers are large but thin, which means they are cooked medium at best. Low quality beef and a regular bun. Basically a half step up from fast food. The fries are the vile dark colored limp and greasy variety. Buffalo wings are passable but not spicy at all. You can order a hot wings but not hot Buffalo wings, which seems to be the case most places around here. Good Buffalo wings aren't that hard to make, but no one seems to know what they ate or how to make them. Sad but true. I'd give the food 2 stars, but this is a bar first and foremost and as a bar it's fine.

  • Teresa A.

Their food is absolutely delicious! The atmosphere is nice and the service was good. The only thing I didn't really care for was the open mike thing that was going on. But that's my own personal issue, I don't really care for loud noise when I'm out. I prefer having a conversation with the person I'm sitting with. Easily avoidable by finding out what hours they have open mike and go earlier.

I don't see the appeal of this place, or how & why it's so popular - the double cheeseburger I ordered was awful. Fries too greasy to even pick up, and the place smells - maybe everyone is too drunk or used to it, but there's definitely some funk brewing in this place, and they would do well to deep clean their establishment more often. I had to stand up twice to flag down a waitress to place my order, and this was in the middle of the day with hardly anybody there. It's possible I came on an off day or the cook called in sick - who knows. But my meal was so bad I won't be back for a second try. Fast food is disgusting to me, and I could've gotten a better burger and fries at McDonald's. PS the REAL MoonDogs is in Pacific Beach, San Diego. The owners of this joint should go visit to see how it should be done if they're going to copy their name.

OK, the good part first: We had breakfast here last weekend and it was FABULOUS (the Bloody Mary's rock!)! So, why the one star? Hair in the food will do that...We went back last night for the Prime Rib Special, which wasn't very special. First plate I got had (literally) a wad of hair right on top the horseradish sauce. ACK! Not so much as an apology from the waitress. Just took the plate away and brought out a new one five minutes later. (And no "adjustment" to the check either, BTW). The meat was average, at best. The baked potato was OK. The four teensy asparagus were overdone and just an afterthought (why bother?). All in all, not a great meal. Service was OK. Still too much bright lighting for my taste. Feels like "closing time" brightness in there all the time. Although I did notice they dimmed the lights just a bit at about 7PM or so. Our friends ordered the wings and they were so spicy/hot they moaned the whole time they were eating them. If you like your food (wings) spicy, I guess that's fine but eating something so hot it makes you tear up, well...really? Just be warned, if you're a spicy food fan. So, we may go back from breakfast but not so sure we'll do dinner there again anytime soon. I'm so bummed. I'd love to like this place...

I am a big fan of nachos. I love to branch out and try new foods all the time but I love to eat at bars & have nachos. Moondogs Too has some pretty delicious nachos (although they are no Tommy C.'s). We have gone to three different bars in the last couple of weeks and I ordered nachos at each one, while my fianc'e ordered a burger at each one. He definitely said Moondogs Too had the best burger. They are known for having for great food & I don't think they ever let anyone down. I highly recommend having lunch or dinner here. My only complaint is something that is just sort of nit picky. I hadn't even noticed that our waitress did not ask if I wanted beef or chicken on my nachos, & just assumed I wanted beef. I NEVER get beef on them & I was actually pretty annoyed when they showed up. Since I didn't even notice that she hadn't asked, I didn't make an issue. Most places ask you the type of meat you want though. They have a good staff. All their bartenders are attentive. Their owner is great. He seems very hands on & has done a great job of turning this place into something special. He is great with the customers. It's a packed house on the weekends during bar hours. Good on them! I used to really like going there & still do, depending on the function or music they have. I am outgrowing that "young" bar where all the kids who are freshly 21 frequent so I don't go there too often these days. I am just starting to feel too old unless they have a band or something that doesn't appeal to the younger crowd.

Great breakfast! One of the best chicken fried steaks, ever. Yogurt parfait, amazing. Staff is great, but often understaffed. Burgers are a different matter. The ingredients and prep are great BUT the bun is not substantial enough to contain those ingredients. Too soft, and gets mushy and falls apart quickly. I suggest getting burgers as a wrap and hopeful they will fix the problem sometime. Always decent food specials. Decent draft beer selection, constantly rotating. Monday nights have 50 cent wings. Bingo, Giant jenga, outdoor firepits, Minute to win it games, dj, dancing, all depends on the night. A true Port Orchard institution.

Was a bit apprehensive walking in due to the slight scent of kitty litter in the air, but was traveling and it was the recommended place to go so we gave it a try. We took seats at the bar were informed by the very friendly staff that it was Taco Tuesday. 2 delicious tacos for only $2.50, add in a few beers and we were in and out for right around $10. (Aside from what I spent on the little pop tab lottery bits behind the bar) No complaints there. After the first round, we went out and sat by the fire pits, a very nice touch. Don't know when I'll be back in the area, but it was a nice laid back place for some decent grub.

The food is good; I thought the sweet potato fries were a little mushy, though. It's very loud; not a good date night place if you want to talk! It's old and could use some updating.

Wow. Just wow. The food here is better than a small-town Kitsap county bar has any right to be. Phenomenal hand made burgers, hand cut and dipped jalepeno poppers with house made jalapeno raspberry dip, and breakfast...oh my god...the BEST chicken fried steak I've had in 30 years. And beermosas! A surprisingly tasty blend of OJ and PBR that was a perfect treat after a night of drinking and watching college football. Staff was outstanding as well. Tracy the bartender actually remembered my friend and I from the night before and had our beer order ready before we even sat down. A serious find. Take care of this place, locals, you don't know how lucky you are.

Things have definitely taken a turn for the better at MoonDogs Too since my original review in June 2013. Finding something interesting to eat out is a challenge for vegetarians in South Kitsap but I'm happy to report that there are some really good, really unusual choices to found here. My favorites are Eggs Benedicio (eggs benedict with jalapeno poppers taking the place of the English muffin) and the Blue Cheese veggie burger and fries for lunch. The service is very friendly (a huge improvement since my original review) and the prices are affordable. Happy to see MoonDogs Too back on track.

I've never been here before 8 or 9 pm, so can't really comment on this place as a "restaurant" rather than a bar. Lately they seem to have a high turn over of staff and the wait can be a bit long to get a drink, but they try hard and aware when you've been waiting. The only food I've ever had here were the nachos and they were pretty good. They weren't completely covered in cheese, but I didn't mind that. The fresh cut veggies on top made up for that and it came with an entire bowl of salsa. The crowd here is always interesting. It's a mesh of young 20-somethings, the middle age crowd, and sometimes you'll even spot someone with a walker here. There frequently is live music between 8-10 on weekends. After there is a DJ who has a whole lot of spirit and really tries to get people into the dancing mood. The outside patio has fires going on it and they have an upstairs balcony too. It's a pretty cool spot to hit in PO on a weekend night. They have a pretty decent selection of beers and despite the diversity of the crowd, people are always friendly.

This place serves amazing food!!! The first time I came here I didn't have the best experience; however they have really redeemed themselves!!! They have hands down the best chicken tenders ever!!! So moist, full of flavor and their hand made fresh fries are icing on the cake. I've also had their chicken fried steak and OMG is that good!!! They never freeze anything so all the food they serve is freshly cooked and prepared just for you!! They are friendly, and the food is made fast and with love. I will definitely come back and I recommended this place for food, drinks or to catch up with friends for happy hour :)

I wish I could give this place 0 stars, what a craptastic experience! Okay, let me explain. Our band was scheduled to play here on Sunday night and we were told how there was a built in crowd and how we would get a $50 tab at the bar for food/drinks. We show up and ask the brain dead waitress about band perks and she says we get nothing. The place is pretty much empty, and to top it all off they don't even have a PA for the vocals. I mean, you are a pub/music venue who books live music every weekend and you don't even have a sound system, and fail to let us know that prior to booking the show! At this point we consider packing it in and calling it a night but she says she can get in touch with a guy who has a PA and would be willing to bring it down to the place. Eventually someone shows up with a single DJ speaker, a small mixing board and no microphone stand. We shortly discover that this contraption isn't even loud enough to be heard over an electric /acoustic guitar, and we are a full band. At this point we decide to cut our losses and call it a night. I have been playing music for a long time and I never have had this kind of experience! NEVER! So, to sum up the night. We lug our gear from Tacoma to Port Orchard, get treated poorly, don't get an apology, don't get paid, and we still had to pay for our food and drinks. Oh, and the food was "meh" at best. I will never set foot in this place again and let the rest of the music community know.

The chicken pot pie was pretty tasty. A thick chicken soup inside a crust (top and bottom crusts; no side crusts though). We also had the "calamari" which, in my humble opinion, tasted like skate (a.k.a. fake scallops). I asked about it--whether it was squid or skate and was told it was squid--but I am still skeptical. The flakiness of the meat of the squid leads me to believe it is skate because squid, as I have known it, doesn't flake. And generally, tentacles are a good sign that squid is squid. But what do I know. I've only had scallops harvested from the sea by myself and my family when I was a kid in Texas, squid prepared by my mom for decades all over this country, and fake scallops and now fake squid in restaurants as an adult. It was still pretty good, the "calamari," I just don't know if that is the proper term for what they serve.

Went there on my sister's bday after starting the night off really bad at another establishment (Tommy C's) - everyone ended up having a much better time here. Good drinks, great music! Thank you MoonDogs Too!

Loved it, they food was great, but I did not feel too welcome, as if they were forced to be nice,

I have heard wonderful things about the atmosphere so that tempers this review a bit. However, it was early and therefore dead when we went so I can't speak much to that. The food, unfortunately, I can and it wasn't good. I want to say that maybe it was just an off night but I'm not really willing to go back and try it again to see if that is true. I was dying for some sweet potato fries but the only place I know if in the area which has them is the Outback in Bremerton (and the fries there are awesome, I have to say). I did a quick google and happened upon the Moon Dog Too's menu which stated they had the object of my obsession, as well as really good Monte Cristos, another favorite. We did take-out and so I give a bit for the fact that it had to survive the ride home, however it is just five minutes even if you hit the light on the way so that explanation doesn't go too far. The fries tasted ok but they were incredibly soggy. Not sitting in a styrofoam box for five or ten minutes soggy but been sitting under a heat lamp waiting for an unsuspecting customer kind of soggy. I've no idea if that was actually the case but they were definitely that soggy. And the sandwich.... beyond greasy. It is deep-fried so you have to account for that but the bread must have soaked up a good quarter of the fat in the fryer. Holding the sandwich, putting any amount of pressure on it, made it drip grease. I did, however, enjoy the raspberry jalapeno jelly/sauce and just wish I'd had a sandwich to go with it which would have served it justice.

Service was as good, which is why it got 2 stars. Bar was gross needed a good cleaning it was sticky and their were crumbs in the cracks. Food was bland and not good. The homemade cheese sticks tasted like old grease and breading absolutely no flavor, and the spaghetti sauce served with it didn't help. Beer was a bit on the warm side, which struck me as odd since it's winter. I could see drinking at this joint but pass on the food.

We went based off Yelp reviews and the place was pretty good although it had kind of a funky smell. We went around 5pm on a Monday and were the only group in the dinning area however we went back Tues. around 6 the place was packed with locals. They host a game night; trivia, ping pong, wii ect. and $2.00 tacos. The food was good. We had the Calamari, Ranch Burger Dip, Buffalo Chicken Stack, Bacon Bacon Cheese Cheese, Pepperoni Pizza, Stuffed Jalapenos, House salad, Sweet Potato fries, Clam Chowder and the $2 tacos shrimp and beef. I also tried the fish tacos but didn't like them. I know that sounds like a lot but there were 4 of us and like I said we went 2 nights in a row. Bathrooms could have been cleaner, but it is a bar, and the service was great. I would and did go back.

This is my favorite bar in the whole area. Amazing food for sure! I have their garlic fries with cheese and ranch every time I come here. The staff treats me and my friends like royalty. Every employee came to meet us and introduce us to other bar owners. It's a great crowd and a great setting. I absolutely love the outside fire/smoke pits. Best bar in kitsap county, hands down.

The food is actually decent here and they participate on restaurant.com - so a nice discount as well! Family friendly until the early evening, later it can be a bit rowdy!

The food here is really good! I personally love their fries with tartar dipping sause. Tipicially those are the things i eat first! I'm not a big drinker, but they have a drink for everyone! Good food and good drinks! A place ya gotta go if you are in the area. :3

I am a frequent customer of MoonDogs, too and have been for about 7 years... staff is always great and their food is my favorite around! I go for the gyro w/sweet potato fries every time... their pizza is amazing too, drinks are great too... The phrase "how bout moondogs" is my husband's favorite thing to hear out of my mouth! LOL

If you are going there to drink you're probably safe. Do not eat there, unless it's the Clam Chowder, the Garlic Fries were cold, the cheese wasn't melted at all, and the fries themselves were limp and nasty. Service is non-existent.

Want a real treat, split a burger. They are great burgers to begin with but they put them on two plates and give you each a big pile of fries. So good.

Great food awesome atmosphere and a decent selection of microbrews. The service is friendly and helpful. I haven't had a bad thing on the menu yet and I am a really picky person. A must if you feel like something outside of your ordinary routine. I've never done the night scene but I really enjoy the afternoon/evening crowd durring the summer when the weather is good you can sit out on the deck and enjoy live music and a slight breeze, and durring the winter they sit in the corner and play. The volume is a touch loud but I have never had it so loud I couldn't talk to someone at my table. The service has always been on point ensuring the quickest service and the friendliest conversation. So don't be shy give this place a shot it's really a good time with great food.

It took almost 40 minutes to get a simple burger, with burnt fries. I had to wash all of my clothes to remove the smell. The bartender was the only server for the bar and the tables. Finally, the "cook" had long hair and a beard with no cover for either one - yuk. MoonDogs Too is off my list of bars in Port Orchard (and I LIVE HERE).

I have to say living mere blocks from this place may make me a bit biased but I have yet to be disappointed! My husband and I eat/drink here about once a week. They have great food, and great beer on tap. Can't go wrong with a good old pub, nothing fancy, great burgers!

I have had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here and all were good. The chicken-fried steak is good for both breakfast and dinner, and I also like the bacon bacon cheese cheese burger. Also they make a very good bloody-marry. I'll be coming here again.

Darrell, the owner, is really putting his life blood into this place. The food's great, with the possible excpetion of the nachos..(how hard is it to get nachos right?) and they make a concerted effort to rotate intriguing beers through the taps. Gotta try the 90 Minute IPA from Dogfish Brewing! I don't go for the music but sometimes stumble accross great gigs there. Yesterday (Sunday) it was a great jazz sax ensemble...last week it was a kick butt 70s 80s band...maybe I WILL go for the music next time...Nice friendly atmosphere. You could do a lot worse.

I've had breakfast here twice now and think it's the best place for breakfast in Kitsap County. I had the scramble with black beans, salsa, avocado and swiss cheese and it was excellent. The potatoes are crisp and flavorful. Even the toast was good and not soggy. The food arrived at the table hot. The service was OK, but the place was not busy. This is definitely just a pub, but the breakfast is terrific.

On the night I went it was just too loud for my tastes. We had a few pitchers of PBR which came out pretty quickly. Food was alright. I had fried mushrooms which were good. The bar food as a whole was pretty good but eventually we left to find somewhere quieter as we were struggling to fit our conversation in between songs. Honestly, the band really wasn't anything special either. I could see myself going back, just on a slower night or maybe one where I'm in more of a mood to hear a live band.

Stopped in this evening and true to it's family friendly sign on the door families with elders and youngsters where enjoying their dinners. We enjoyed the food and drink which was really GOOD! The bar tender and wait staff were really excellent and made for a pleasant dining experience.

Great bar to have fun in. The drinks cost some extra coin compared to some of the other bars on the same strip, but this place is probably the biggest, with a nice seating area outside with several fires always going at night. A big stage outdoors and local bands every weekend. There is an upstairs and deck. There are always plenty of cocktail waitresses around so you don't have to wait too long for a drink. Great place to go and have fun.

Had the Monte Cristo with the sweet potato fries. Both were very good and worth a try. Service was good but the food was a little slow given the small amount of people there. Definitely loved the rasberry jalapeño jelly.

i kinda like this place. good food, try the bacon bacon cheese cheese burger if youre into that sort of thing. i want the soggy sweet potato fries to be better, but they are always soggy, oh well. we stopped into this place a few hours after moving to port orchard and were greeted by a very friendly bartender who chatted with us for a while. there is a ping pong table in the courtyard along with a couple of nice fire places. overall, a nice little pub thats only a couple of blocks from my house. i cant wait to stop in again!
